It's all about writing something like a narrative, a story that encompasses one person's state of mind. People all over the world will be eager to read about what someone else's life is like. It is more about different people's experiences, can you imagine what goes on in the mind of a corrupt government official? Or a starving kid in Africa? Or a greedy corporate businessman? or even just the school cleaner...or some random person who walks past you on the street...people you ignore and don't think about, but they all have an interesting story to tell, and i believe people will want to read them. It's why we watch movies, to step into someone else's shoes and imagine what life would be like. I believe everyone has an interesting story to tell, imagine being someone else, and see what life is like for them, how they think, how they feel...
